About Fun

About Fun is an independent Prague-based mobile game studio creating original free-to-play games for iOS and Android. Founded in 2011 by Petr Vodák and Martin Balhar, the company began in a garage before incorporating as About Fun s.r.o. in 2012. Its work spans accessible arcade and puzzle games as well as tactical, real-time multiplayer shooters.

The studio develops and operates its own intellectual property rather than primarily working as a work-for-hire provider. Its production capabilities cover game design, rapid prototyping, Unity and C# engineering, 2D and 3D art, character design, animation, quality assurance, mobile testing, cloud backend systems, and live operations. Real-time PvP synchronization, free-to-play economy design, monetization, and community management are central to its mobile-game practice.

About Fun's catalogue includes:

• WarFriends — a real-time tactical PvP cover shooter launched globally with EA Chillingo in 2017.
• WarFriends Legends — an action-shooter follow-up in the WarFriends universe.
• Zombie Horde — a top-down mobile zombie shooter.
• Mega Dead Pixel — a retro arcade runner built around a pixel-scraping mechanic and selected for Apple's App Store Best of 2013.
• Tiny Miners — an arcade digging and crafting game featured on the iOS App Store.
• Cut and Hack, LETZ Match!, and Kids' Games — earlier puzzle, reflex, social, and educational titles.

WarFriends marked a major commercial milestone for the studio, reaching more than 2.5 million downloads in its first week and receiving prominent Apple and Google storefront placement. About Fun subsequently brought the game's player accounts and live operations under its own infrastructure. The studio's catalogue has reached nearly 20 million downloads worldwide.

Independent mobile development

The company combines mobile client development with custom synchronization and cloud-backend work, supporting live games across global app-store distribution. Its Prague team works across design, engineering, art, live operations, and testing, with a focus on original games that range from casual arcade experiences to mid-core tactical action.
