About 5 Lives Studios
5 Lives Studios is an independent video game developer based in Brisbane, Queensland, creating original, systems-driven games for PC, console and subscription platforms. Established in 2013 after the closure of Sega Studios Australia, the founder-owned studio was formed by experienced Australian developers pursuing creator-led game development with complete creative independence.
The team’s first release, Satellite Reign, was a crowdfunded open-world real-time tactical game that built on a cyberpunk strategy tradition while emphasizing squad control, emergent systems and a neon urban setting. The studio later partnered with Deep Silver on Windbound, a survival, crafting and sailing adventure set across a procedurally generated archipelago. Its work combines strategic design, exploration, stylized 3D art and adaptive gameplay systems.
In 2024, 5 Lives Studios introduced Cozy Caravan in Steam Early Access. The top-down exploration and crafting game follows a travelling merchant helping communities across picturesque regions, extending the studio’s work into a warmer, community-focused style of play. The title completed a multi-platform release in January 2026 for PC, Nintendo Switch and Apple Arcade.
