About 314 Arts
314 Arts is an independent German video-game developer and publisher focused on first-person shooters, cooperative survival experiences and tactical action games. Based in North Rhine-Westphalia, the studio builds projects around a gameplay-first approach that prioritizes mechanical depth, responsive play and dark, atmospheric presentation rather than short-lived genre trends.
The team works across full-cycle game development, including game and level design, 3D modelling, environment art, animation and self-publishing. Its technical capabilities include high-fidelity rendering and optimisation with Unity’s High Definition Render Pipeline and Unity 6, alongside custom development tools intended to balance visual quality with console performance.
Games and development
314 Arts’ early release, Vengeance, is a multiplayer arena shooter inspired by skill-based FPS games of the mid-2000s. The studio later expanded into cooperative survival action with Projekt Z: Beyond Order, a four-player zombie survival shooter set on a secret World War II island. 314 Arts is the game’s developer, with Maximum Entertainment serving as global publisher for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The studio is also developing NightRunner, a cooperative horde-survival extraction game. 314 Arts is developing and publishing the title for PC, with Steam playtests planned ahead of its targeted 2027 release.
Development approach
The company operates through a decentralised “One Office” framework: its German headquarters functions as the operational centre while it coordinates an international remote team of developers, artists and sound designers. Its core team covers disciplines including direction, programming, level design, environment art, concept art, animation, narrative and composition.
314 Arts is led by co-founders Justin Miersch, Game Director, and Maximilian Kube, Lead Programmer. The business is registered as a German general commercial partnership and remains independent, without a parent corporation or corporate subsidiaries.
