About 3.0 Studio
3.0 Studio is a French animation service and executive-production studio focused on high-standard traditional and digital 2D work. Formed as an independent company in late 2015 after the animation-fabrication activity was separated from Prima Linea Productions, it supports auteur-driven projects across feature films, short films, television, documentaries and immersive formats.
The studio combines hand-drawn craft with digital production tools and hybrid 2D/3D techniques. Its work spans visual development, graphic concept design, character animation, layout, colour backgrounds, clean-up, compositing, visual effects, sound and image post-production. It also provides technical and artistic consultation, as well as full-line animation execution and executive production for international co-productions.
Animation practice
3.0 Studio is equipped to take on both individual production stages and broader animation-fabrication assignments. Its specialties include:
- Traditional and digital 2D animation
- Hybrid 2D/3D animation workflows
- Visual development, concept art and graphic creation
- Background layout, colour art, lighting and shadow rendering
- Character animation, compositing and post-production
- Fulldome and 360° animation for planetarium presentations
The company’s work is associated with demanding graphic approaches and director-led cinema, while its flexible production model can bring together artists and technicians according to the needs of a project.
Selected work
Recent credits include animation and executive-production work on Michel Hazanavicius’s The Most Precious of Cargoes (2024), animated documentary sequences for Kill in the Name of God (2025), and Michel Ocelot’s fulldome musical tale Les Lapins 3 Oreilles (2026). The studio also delivered the animated action sequence for Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch and provided additional animation support for Sergio Pablos’ Klaus.
Its project history includes short-form work such as Shoah – Bernard Orès, Scale, Omar et Pincette and Souvenir Souvenir. Through its roots in the Prima Linea animation tradition, the studio also carries forward experience developed on European animated features including The Bears’ Famous Invasion of Sicily and The Red Turtle.
More about 3.0 Studio
Leadership and heritage
- Christophe Jankovic is the company’s managing director (gérant). He co-founded the studio’s Prima Linea production heritage with Valérie Schermann, who served as 3.0 Studio’s initial Gérante until early 2020.
- The company’s separation from Prima Linea Productions was designed to distinguish animation fabrication and studio operations from project development and financing.
Production model
3.0 Studio can scale project teams with contract animators and intermittents du spectacle, alongside a small permanent salaried staff. This enables the studio to support productions ranging from shorts and documentaries to feature animation and immersive projects.
