About 10 Ave Animation

10 Ave Animation is a Québec City-based boutique digital animation studio specializing in feature-length animated films and television series. Established in November 2018 by 10e Ave Productions Inc., the studio was created to bring 3D and 2D animation capabilities in-house, build a specialized local team, and reduce reliance on external technical subcontractors.

Its work spans the CG production process for family and youth entertainment, from storyboarding, layout, character design, modelling and digital asset creation through rigging, character animation, lighting, shading, compositing, rendering and texture art. The studio also provides 2D and 3D visual-effects work.

Feature animation

The studio ramped up on Felix and the Treasure of Morgäa in 2021, its inaugural 3D feature following the unit's launch. Its subsequent work includes the 2023 feature Katak: The Brave Beluga and the 2026 CG-animated feature Lydia and the Mist Rider.

In late 2026, the team began work on The Bravest of All, scheduled for 2027. The project is described as the first title in 10th Ave's slate for which the complete animation production pipeline is being carried out in-house by the Québec City studio.

Part of an independent production group

10 Ave Animation operates as the dedicated animation studio division of 10e Ave Productions Inc. While the parent company provides overarching production leadership, the animation unit has its own operational mandate and leadership team. The studio's development represented a notable expansion of feature-animation capacity in Québec's Capitale-Nationale region.

Its credits centre on original family entertainment for cinema, with experience also relevant to television series, youth programming, digital streaming and cross-platform media.

Leadership and production method

The studio's animation leadership includes producer Jean-François Tremblay, animation director Yann Tremblay, CG supervisor Rafaël Doray, technical director Alexandre Melançon, IT infrastructure director Julien Bastidon, and lead texture artist Chantale Boudreau. Parent-company president and founder Nancy Florence Savard provides overarching production leadership alongside executive producer Ginette Poulin.

For Felix and the Treasure of Morgäa, the team established an integrated production pipeline using Maya, Arnold and Nuke. The studio was created in part to internalize animation production and assemble specialized local artistic talent rather than rely on external technical subcontractors.
