About RUBIKA India

RUBIKA India is the Asian campus of the French digital creation consortium RUBIKA, operating from a dedicated facility in Pune. The institution applies the European LMD educational model, offering programs in 3D Animation, Video Game Development, and Industrial Design. Students pursue intensive degree cycles equivalent to the French BAC+3 and BAC+5 standards, with the latter mapped to the RNCP Level 7 qualification.

Pedagogy and Practice

The school employs a project-oriented curriculum designed to replicate professional studio environments. The approach balances technical mastery with artistic fundamentals and cultural education. Students are expected to manage high individual and collaborative workloads, emphasizing self-organization and professional communication.

Animation and VFX

The animation curriculum spans the entire production pipeline, progressing from foundational training in narrative storytelling, character design, and stop motion to technical specialization in the Expert Cycle. Students focus on complex simulations, including fluid dynamics and destruction effects, culminating in a professional-grade short graduation film created under strict industry constraints.

Video Game Development

The gaming division is structured into distinct Game Art, Game Design, and Game Programming tracks. Instruction covers player psychology, UI ergonomics, and narrative gameplay. Students participate in iterative project cycles, including mobile game development, "Protodays," and "Zelda Like" assignments, to build functional, documented prototypes using industry-standard engines and scripting languages.

Facilities

The Pune campus supports its intensive studio culture with specialized laboratories. These include design labs equipped with Cintiq displays, dedicated VFX studios, clay modeling areas, and an integrated cinema room for technical and aesthetic critiques. Professional integration is further facilitated by a network of over 250 industry stakeholders and mandatory internships lasting between two and six months.
