IIFA Multimedia

Established in 1991 under the LANCASTER Group of Institutions, IIFA Multimedia provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma education across visual effects, animation, game design, and digital media. With primary campuses in Bengaluru and regional centres in Mangalore and Coimbatore, the college aligns its programs with the technical requirements of digital production studios.

Applied Studio Training and AI Integration

Teaching at IIFA Multimedia emphasizes production-oriented learning rather than isolated software exercises. Several degree pathways—including the B.Sc. in Animation and Multimedia, B.Sc. in Visual Effects & Animation, and M.Sc. in Game Designing, Development & VR—incorporate AI-assisted production workflows into their coursework. Students engage with AI-assisted character animation, generative 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering workflows alongside traditional artistic principles. Faculty members with studio experience guide students through production milestones, continuous feedback, and portfolio refinement.

VFX Pipeline and Specialized Tooling

Curriculum progression reflects standard studio pipeline stages. In specialized tracks such as the IIFA International Program in VFX, early coursework in pre-visualization, rotoscoping, wire removal, and camera tracking builds toward advanced compositing, matte painting, and final demo reel development. Instruction centers on proprietary industry software:

• 3D Modeling and Animation: Autodesk Maya and 3ds Max
• Texturing and Rendering: Substance 3D Painter, Arnold, and V-Ray
• Compositing and Simulation: Foundry Nuke, SideFX Houdini, Silhouette, and PFTrack

Practical work is supported on campus through the IIFA Studio, configured to handle dynamic simulations and heavy rendering workloads.
