About École BRASSART

École BRASSART is a French private higher education institution dedicated to the digital arts, 3D animation, video games, visual effects, and design. Established in 1949 and expanded in 2019 through a merger with the Aries and ESMI schools, BRASSART operates across a nationwide network of 15 physical campuses throughout France.

Curriculum Structure and Degree Pathways

Academic training begins with an integrated preparatory year focusing on drawing fundamentals, image theory, and visual culture. This preliminary grounding ensures students establish traditional artistic sensibilities before transitioning to digital software and pipeline production.

Following the foundation year, students pursue specialized study through degree pathways leading to state-recognized Level 6 (Bachelor) and Level 7 (Master) RNCP qualifications:

  • Bachelor in 3D Animation & Immersion: Emphasizes modeling, texturing, character rigging, compositing, and real-time environment creation.
  • Master's in 3D Animation & Immersion: Focuses on complete production pipeline direction, advanced visual effects simulations, immersive real-time media, and technical workflow management.
  • Game Design & Digital Arts Tracks: Covers concept art, interactive systems, and specialized game development techniques.
  • Specialized Regional Offerings: Includes an Eco-Designed Graphic Design pathway targeting sustainable production methods, and an audiovisual editing track (BTS Audiovisuel).

Studio Methodology and Technical Tools

BRASSART emphasizes collaborative, studio-style production across its technical programs. Coursework incorporates industry-standard toolsets for modeling, texturing, animation, and simulation, including Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, ZBrush, Houdini, Nuke, and the Substance 3D suite. Real-time development centers on Unreal Engine and Unity.

Curricula also integrate modern generative and machine-learning tools into production workflows, covering prompt engineering, immersive writing, and pipeline optimization alongside traditional and real-time rendering.

Facilities and Professional Integration

Instruction is conducted entirely in person. Facilities across the country provide modern computer labs, screening spaces, and collaborative workrooms, including the Paris campus established at the historic Hôtel Scipion. Professional preparation includes structured internship placements ranging from two to five months, portfolio development, and access to an extensive alumni network across digital entertainment and creative industries.
