About CIIT College of Innovation and Integrated Technology
CIIT College of Innovation and Integrated Technology is a specialized institution in Quezon City, Philippines, focused on digital arts, interactive media, and game development. Established in 2007 by Niel Dagondon, founder of Anino Games, the college was built to train talent directly for the Philippine digital production sector and international creative outsourcing studios in Metro Manila.
Instruction is delivered through a Hybrid FLEX format, which combines physical studio sessions with synchronous remote participation. This structure allows students to attend on-site or follow classes online while gaining experience with the remote, distributed workflows common across modern game development and visual effects studios.
Degree Pathways
Creative education at CIIT is organized primarily around two undergraduate tracks:
- Bachelor of Multimedia Arts (BMMA): Covers 2D and 3D animation, interactive media design, digital storyboarding, and post-production using tools such as Autodesk Maya, Unity, Toon Boom, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Multimedia Computing (BSEMC): Combines game physics, artificial intelligence, computer graphics programming, and 3D animation using Unreal Engine, Unity, Autodesk 3ds Max, Blender, C++, and Python.
This curriculum structure enables multimedia arts students to work inside interactive engines while computing students build foundational competencies in user experience design and visual storytelling.
Studio Facilities and Prototyping
Practical studio work is centered at the Interweave Campus, which provides dedicated PC and Mac labs equipped with drawing tablets and traditional illustration lightpad desks. The campus also houses an on-site render farm to support complex 3D animation processing. Complementing these labs is the CIIT PlayLab, a collaborative prototyping environment equipped with high-performance workstations and 3D printers.
Capstone Projects and Studio Integration
Senior students complete comprehensive capstone projects that integrate technical proficiency with narrative storytelling and cultural themes. Examples of student deliverables include the Philippine folklore-inspired 2D Metroidvania game Sikbinan, the cyberpunk logistics platformer Carryon, and the socially focused 2D animated short Tahimik Ya Ing Bengi.
Professional preparation is coordinated through CIIT's Partnerships and Industry Relations Office (PIRO), which maintains relationships with more than one hundred external studios, including Secret 6, Pixel Mafia, and Keywords Studios Manila. Through studio mentorship, portfolio reviews, and mandatory internships, students gain direct exposure to production pipelines prior to graduation.
