Campus Specializations and Facilities

At the flagship Noida campus, the Amity School of Film and Drama (ASFD) anchors its teaching in narrative cinematic production. The school offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Visual Effects, Animation, and Comics, allowing students to specialize in Visual Effects, 2D Animation, or 3D Animation:

• Visual Effects Track: Focuses on integrating digital image generation with live-action filmmaking, training students in compositing, chroma keying, matchmoving, camera tracking, rotoscopy, and digital matte painting.

To support this studio-focused workflow, ASFD provides chroma-key production stages, sound design suites, and dedicated post-production computer labs equipped with Apple Mac Pro and iMac workstations. The Noida campus also hosts programs in game design and development as well as an integrated Bachelor of Fine Arts in animation.

At the Mumbai campus, located near India's major film and broadcast industries, the Amity School of Communication (ASCO) conducts a four-year B.Sc. (Hons.) in Animation and Visual Effects. The coursework centers on core industry software tools, providing hands-on instruction in Autodesk Maya, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Photoshop.

In Mohali, the Department of Animation and Game Design at Amity University Punjab offers a three-year B.Sc. program focused on interactive media and virtual world-building. Students develop game assets and real-time interactive experiences using platforms such as Unity and Unreal Engine, emphasizing game engine programming, digital sculpting, and real-time technical workflows.

Online and Interactive Media

Amity extends its technical instruction to distance learners through Amity University Online, which provides a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) specializing in Augmented and Virtual Reality. The online program covers AR/VR software development, 3D game environment creation, and immersive system architecture.
