About 3dsense Media School

3dsense Media School is an intensive digital arts training academy located at Clarke Quay in Singapore. Established in 2003, the school delivers focused vocational training structured around a studio-simulation model, compressing comprehensive artistic and technical curricula into intensive one-year full-time diploma programs.

Studio-Simulation and Production Infrastructure

A central component of the learning model is studio ownership. Rather than hot-desking or rotating through computer labs, full-time diploma students are assigned a dedicated workstation for the entire duration of their program. The Clarke Quay facility houses 15 studios equipped with high-specification PCs, dedicated render farm machines, motion capture equipment, and virtual reality gear, supported by extended daily access. Coursework follows a production pipeline structure where students face realistic project deadlines and continuous review cycles.

Feedback sessions mirror industry dailies. Instructors with professional backgrounds at studios such as Weta Digital, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Ubisoft lead regular critique days. Students present in-progress visual assets, explain their artistic and technical choices, and revise work based on feedback from mentors and peers.

Core Programs and Specializations

Curricula focus on core artistic fundamentals before advancing into specialized digital production pipelines:

  • 3D Animation, VFX & 3D Modeling: Covers computer graphics fundamentals, cinematography, and asset workflows before branching into focused animation, modeling, or visual effects tracks using Maya, Houdini, ZBrush, and Nuke.
  • Game Art & 3D Animation: Emphasizes real-time asset optimization, character modeling, and environment creation using Unreal Engine, Maya, ZBrush, and Substance 3D Painter.
  • Motion & Graphic Design: Concentrates on motion typography, kinetic composition, visual branding, and broadcast design utilizing Cinema 4D and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Concept Art & Illustration: Emphasizes traditional drawing principles, anatomy, composition, visual storytelling, and digital painting in Photoshop.
  • Figurine & Product Design: Bridges digital sculpting and physical production, covering toy prototyping, 3D printing workflows, and material safety with ZBrush, Rhino, and Fusion 360.

Foundational and Degree Pathways

For applicants requiring foundational artistic preparation, 3dsense offers a four-month Diploma in Art & Design Foundation delivered through synchronous online learning, focusing on perspective, structural drawing, and color theory.

Graduates seeking advanced portfolio development can continue into six-month Specialist Diplomas in areas such as Visual Graphics or Concept Art and Illustration, working on capstone production projects. Additionally, an articulation agreement with the University of Hertfordshire in the UK enables diploma graduates to enter directly into Year 2 of corresponding bachelor's degree programs, while those completing both a diploma and a specialist diploma can qualify for direct entry into Year 3.
