Position Overview

As a Lead UX & Tools (H/F/NB), you will join a multidisciplinary team (data, programming, game design, narrative, animation) tasked with exploring the potential of generative AI in gameplay. The team is responsible for testing new player experiences and equipping creators with tools to build dynamic, immersive, and surprising interactions that were previously impossible.

You will lead the Tools team in building a cohesive creation ecosystem across all studio solutions, ensuring a strong focus on the end-user experience (developers and artists).


Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Delivery

  • Design workflows for developers and creators.
  • Direct the development of editing tools, engine-integrated interfaces, and developer workflows.
  • Promote engineering excellence through automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation.
  • Ensure tools meet real user needs by:
    • Implementing user research protocols.
    • Creating structured feedback cycles that account for technical constraints and UX/UI considerations.

Team Management

  • Manage a team of full-stack developers and foster their professional development.
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, and track the team’s work progress.
  • Support and guide team members on technical and creative aspects.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with SDK, online services/API, and AI teams to align requirements and ensure seamless engine integration.
  • Work closely with production teams to deliver relevant and deployable solutions.
  • Arbitrate decisions based on technical constraints and UX quality.
  • Gather, interpret, and integrate feedback from end-users into the team’s priorities.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills

  • Proven experience managing a development team.
  • Extensive experience developing tools for game engines, web tools, or plugins.
  • Mastery or solid knowledge of machine learning or artificial intelligence.
  • Experience developing plugins for Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar engines, or web applications (React, Angular, or equivalent).

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript / JavaScript (web tools), Python, C++, and C# (engine/plugin development).
  • Experience with Figma and Miro for defining user experiences.
  • Good understanding of game production pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-haves)

  • Experience with the Anvil or Snowdrop game engines.
  • Academic background or training in design thinking, software ergonomics, and user research.
