Role Summary
Trainee Technical Designer for a AAA project. The role focuses on the design and implementation of main missions, working in collaboration with level designers, narrative designers, quest designers, and level artists to ensure technical robustness and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with level designers, narrative designers, quest designers, and level artists to design main missions.
- Provide level designers with modular functionalities for their missions.
- Design, implement, and maintain modular functionalities for the game.
- Ensure that the technical requirements of main missions are respected and validated.
- Write clear and precise documentation regarding features.
- Identify and escalate issues and future problems to the manager or team members to maintain stability and feasibility of deliverables.
Qualifications
- Degree in game design, level design, technical design, video games, or a related field.
- Personal projects or initial experience combining level design with technical implementation (scripting, gameplay systems, tools).
- Good understanding of navigation, flow, pacing, and readability principles, as well as technical constraints (performance, streaming, occlusion).
- Ability to translate design intent into functional prototypes using scripting or visual scripting (Blueprints, C#, Python, Lua).
- Strong interest in real-time engines (Unreal, Unity) and their level design and gameplay scripting tools.
- Proficiency in English.
