About the role

Please note that for this role you must be based in the UK.

We are scaling up our art team: a group driven by talent, continuous learning, and a passion for unique, high-impact projects. We are looking for a Senior 2D Animator to take ownership of core animation, contribute to early-stage visual direction, and collaborate closely across disciplines.

What You’ll Do

  • Core Animation & Rigging: Own key character and environmental animations, as well as VFX animation, delivering high-quality, performant assets.
  • Art Direction & R&D: Assist with concept animation tests, animations, and early visual development to set the motion design tone for projects.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside artists, designers, and developers to problem-solve and find effective animation solutions.
  • Marketing Support: Create animated promotional assets, trailers, and marketing materials as needed.
  • Feedback & Iteration: Receive constructive feedback from key stakeholders and integrate it into iterations.

Software Proficiency & Requirements

  • Spine 2D: Expert level
  • Adobe Creative Cloud: Particularly After Effects and Photoshop (or equivalent digital painting tools)
  • Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of 2D animation fundamentals, rigging, and game development pipelines (from concept to engine integration).
  • General Artistic Skill: Strong foundational art skills, including digital painting, composition, and visual design.
  • Teamwork Mindset: A proactive, humble, and open approach - ready to mentor, learn, engage in constructive design debates, and take agency during downtime.
  • Clean Workflow: Non-destructive project setups and clear file hygiene for seamless team sharing and asset handoffs.
  • Communication & Time Management: Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken) with the ability to manage your workload, estimate task timelines, and coordinate across remote teams.
  • Remote Setup: A reliable remote working environment with high-speed internet.

What We Offer

  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Remote working with flexible hours around core coverage (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
  • Regular 1:1s and dedicated feedback sessions with the Art Director

Please note that for this role you must be based in the UK.
