Playtonic Games is an independent videogame developer, started by creative talent behind some of the most popular platform games of the past (including Donkey Kong Country and Banjo-Kazooie). The company aims to bring fun games that everyone loves to play to new and old audiences alike across multiple platforms. The core team consists of veterans mixed with fresh, youthful talent. The company’s first release is Yooka-Laylee, launched in April 2017, and funded as a result of Europe’s biggest video game Kickstarter. Playtonic branded out into the realm of publishing in early 2021 with Playtonic Friends.
Job Details
Role: QA Tester
Contract Length: 12 Months
Department: Quality Assurance
Reporting To: Senior On Team Tester
Location: Leamington Spa
Responsibilities
- Perform QA test passes ranging from full play throughs, critical path tests, to smoke tests.
- Ensure that all issues and bugs are reported with all relevant information to support development teams.
- Support the development teams to test features as they are implemented.
- Act as a QA expert for assigned titles.
- Track issues through the full QA lifecycle.
Requirements
- A track record of QA testing video games from start to completion.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to identify issues.
- Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for collaboration.
- Passion for games across many genres and an ability to familiarise yourself with different types of gameplay.
- Knowledge of different bug databases.
- Knowledge of platform certification requirements is a benefit.
