Role Overview

Scopely is looking for a QA Analyst to join the Monopoly Go! team in Barcelona. The role reports to the Vertical Group QA Lead of Live Minigames. The analyst will play a vital role in upholding quality standards within a "Pod" (a tightly integrated team) for the Monopoly Go! franchise.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure pod contributions to each release meet the highest quality standards, focusing on defect prevention, user experience, and a holistic view of release quality across the team.
  • Develop clear and comprehensive test plans defining scope, time estimates, resourcing, and tooling/cheat requirements.
  • Drive the creation, upkeep, and execution of test suites and cases tailored to the pod’s needs and evolving scope.
  • Support and adopt AI-driven QA initiatives to improve efficiency, coverage, and reporting.
  • Maintain a clean and prioritized bug database aligned with pod work.
  • Lead the onboarding of external embedded QA resources, ensuring alignment with internal processes and fostering strong working relationships.
  • Take ownership of pod quality output through hands-on testing and leadership.
  • Review briefs and design documents to raise pre-production quality concerns, championing a ‘shift left’ attitude.
  • Facilitate pod-specific playtests to gather feedback and track issues.
  • Collaborate with Customer Support and Live & Release teams to investigate live issues and address root causes.
  • Adhere to team-wide QA governance and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in POD and QA team ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with developers to understand scope changes and assess cross-functional impacts.
  • Monitor app health metrics (ANRs and crash rates) post-release and mitigate issues.
  • Embody and promote Scopely’s core tenets.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong time management, accountability, and organizational skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate for team needs while balancing business priorities.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and self-motivated personality.
  • Flexibility to work in an agile environment with the ability to multitask across multiple high-profile releases.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of business goals.
  • Exceptional reporting capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of JIRA or similar bug tracking systems.
  • Mobile exposure and understanding of Apple and Google submission protocols.
  • Sound understanding of the gaming industry and the end-to-end development lifecycle.
