About the Role

Team and Role Overview

The Senior Product Analyst will join the Player Value team on Candy Crush Saga. The primary focus is the In-App Purchases (IAP) area, with potential expansion into the early funnel, communication systems, or the in-game economy. This role involves end-to-end ownership of the experimentation lifecycle, partnering with Product Managers, and operational work at scale within a live-game environment. The team actively utilizes AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Codex to accelerate analysis and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Own the experimentation lifecycle from problem formulation and hypothesis design to analysis, readout, recommendation, and follow-up.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of player behavior to identify opportunities for improving monetization, retention, and player experience.
  • Translate complex data into clear insights, recommendations, and narratives for Product Managers, Designers, and leadership.
  • Analyze price points, offers, and promotions to support pricing decisions and measure impact on conversion, revenue, and long-term player value.
  • Manage the in-game economy by monitoring balance, sinks, and sources, and identifying risks/opportunities within currency and reward systems.
  • Own tracking specifications by defining necessary events and metrics, writing documentation, and ensuring instrumentation is accurate.
  • Execute operational work at scale, including reporting, observability, data quality, event integrity, and coordination.
  • Build and maintain Looker dashboards and reporting frameworks for self-service analytics.
  • Write performant SQL in BigQuery to answer product questions.
  • Partner with Developers, Product Managers, and Data Scientists on solution delivery, observability, and data model improvements.
  • Use segmentation, funnel analysis, and journey mapping to explore complex product questions.
  • Utilize AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Codex to accelerate analysis, prototyping, and communication.
  • Support the Analytics craft through knowledge sharing, defining standards, and mentoring junior analysts.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of deriving insights from behavioral or product data.
  • Strong SQL skills (BigQuery preferred) and ability to work independently with large datasets.
  • Experience owning or contributing to experimentation and A/B testing (design, interpretation, and translation into recommendations).
  • Dashboarding experience in Looker or a comparable BI tool.
  • Experience using data to support product, business, or operational decisions.
  • Ability to communicate analysis clearly via data visualization and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with Product, Design, Engineering, and Data Science.
  • Independence and initiative to drive ambiguous problems to actionable outcomes.
  • Willingness to own operational work at scale, including tracking, observability, and data quality.

Highly Appreciated Skills

  • Good understanding of statistics and experience interpreting A/B test results.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for analysis, automation, or modeling.
  • Curiosity regarding the use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or Codex) to accelerate workflows.
  • Experience in games, live-service products, or fast-moving consumer products.

Success Criteria

  • Acting as a trusted analytical partner to Product Managers to shape decisions via data and commercial insight.
  • Providing reliable, actionable insights that deepen team understanding of players.
  • Surfacing facts to reduce ambiguity and connect data to product outcomes.
  • Operating effectively in a fast-paced environment where solutions require unique approaches.
  • Building strong relationships across Product, Design, Engineering, and Analytics.
  • Executing operational tasks reliably as a core component of delivering value.

Role Scope

The Senior Product Analyst typically operates at the product-theme or feature level, providing analytical leadership across end-to-end solution delivery. This position complements Product Management and Data Science. Core contributions include data-driven discovery, experimentation, exploration, and recommendation, with a heavy emphasis on product understanding, technical independence, and translating data into better product decisions.
