About the role
Role Overview
Scopely is looking for a Product Analyst to join our Star Trek Fleet Command team within our Live Games Portfolio division in Barcelona, on a hybrid basis.
Star Trek Fleet Command is an in-house developed 4X MMO launched in 2018, consistently ranking as one of the top 10 gross revenue Massive Multiplayer Strategy games on the market.
What You Will Do
Join a team of Product Analysts, partnering with the game team, central data platform, and publishing teams to focus on impactful performance and sustainable long-term game health.
- Work across diverse teams through the full game development lifecycle, from defining goals and metrics through to monitoring and iterating actions based on live outcomes.
- Help set the direction for new features, analyzing rich and varied data sets representing the behavior of millions of players to understand where best opportunities exist.
- Model and track data events, debugging and problem-solving using mathematical and systems thinking skills to ensure the quality and utility of findings.
- Use SQL and Python to conduct deep-dive analyses, build robust analytical frameworks, and evaluate the impact of product launches, features, events, and live game changes on key player and business metrics.
- Apply advanced statistical modeling, causal inference, and machine learning techniques—such as Difference-in-Differences, regression modeling, predictive modeling, and other appropriate methods—to understand whether observed changes in metrics are driven by product actions, player behavior shifts, or external factors.
- Translate complex analytical results into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders across product, design, economy, engineering, and leadership teams.
- Present findings to multiple disciplines, using empathy, storytelling, and influencing skills to demonstrate relevance, support decision-making, and raise the overall insight maturity of teams across the studio.
What We’re Looking For
- Successful track record in an Analyst, Data Scientist, or Business Intelligence related role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, with experience working with large and complex datasets.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, statistical modeling, automation, and advanced analytical workflows.
- Experience applying statistical modeling, causal inference, experimentation, and/or machine learning methods to answer complex product or business questions.
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts and the ability to choose the right analytical method based on the business question, data structure, and available evidence.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Compelling presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses and technical results into clear recommendations for colleagues at all levels.
- An independent mindset, with the ability to work autonomously, apply curiosity and rigor, and proactively identify opportunities for deeper analysis.
- Passion for continuous learning in a highly collaborative environment.
- Working knowledge of visualization tools and techniques is beneficial.
