Job Overview
As an Online Programmer on Far Cry, you will support production teams in creating connected experiences. You will participate in the design, development, and maintenance of the game's online systems.
Responsibilities
The Online team consists of two main areas of expertise:
- Utilization and integration of standard Ubisoft services to meet game needs. This includes their integration as well as providing features through the creation and adaptation of Snowdrop plugins (C++).
- Development of deployment and automation tools for game server management. The infrastructure and associated services rely on a GitOps approach and utilize tools such as ArgoCD, Kubernetes, Go, and TypeScript.
Depending on your experience, interests, and professional aspirations, you may contribute to either area of the Online team.
Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with C++ and/or Go, as well as TypeScript.
- Experience in maintenance, optimization, or operation of online systems and services.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills allowing you to explain technical concepts to different audiences.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a shared vision.
- Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and rigor, combined with a strong curiosity and a willingness to learn.
- A creative spirit and an interest in innovation.
Assets
- Experience in the development and optimization of highly scalable and available microservices in Go.
- Experience related to the management and deployment of game servers, as well as the administration of cloud infrastructures (Kubernetes, Azure, or AWS).
