Role Overview

Escape Velocity is seeking an imaginative, skillful, and proactive Senior Level Designer to join their remote team. • Iterate rapidly based on playtest data and team feedback.
  • Playtest in-progress work of others and provide feedback to the team.
  • Collaborate with Mechanics and AI Designers and Engineers to create unique gameplay mechanics and improve tools.
  • Work with Environment Artists to transition gameplay blockouts into polished environments without compromising intended gameplay integrity.

Requirements

  • Passion for action games on Console and/or PC.

  • A portfolio demonstrating high-quality shipped/playable Level Design work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Drawing, art, or Photoshop skills.
  • Technical skills and experience with common scripting languages.
  • 3D construction skill beyond blockout quality geometry.

Company Culture and Work Environment

  • Model: Fully Remote.
  • Geography: North America, Canada, Europe.
  • Culture: The team values the time, energy, and talent of players and colleagues. They prioritize honesty, provide autonomy, and focus on output/contribution rather than clocked hours. The studio is dedicated to a "culture of play" and constant improvement.

Benefits

  • A generous PTO allowance.
  • Summer and Winter holidays studio closure (separate from PTO).
  • Private Medical & Dental Healthcare.
  • Private Mental Health scheme.
  • A generous annual Health & Wellbeing allowance.
  • Discretionary Studio Bonus.
