About the Project

Scopely is developing a new, unannounced, cross-platform Strategy/MMO title. The team embraces AI-forward development practices and values curiosity and pragmatism in using tools to improve development.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage a team of experienced engineers focused on developing and maintaining the game client.
  • Design and implement new features in the game client, collaborating with stakeholder teams to define requirements and identify technical solutions.
  • Propose and implement improvements to development processes, workflows, and tools to increase efficiency, quality, and throughput.
  • Conduct pair programming, code reviews, 1-1s, and knowledge-sharing sessions to build a strong development culture.
  • Work closely with QA to resolve bugs and deliver high-quality code, contributing directly to the codebase.
  • Serve as the quality gate for all code, ensuring the team writes clean, efficient, and optimized code.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement the best alternative technical solutions.
  • Leverage AI tools and agentic workflows in daily work, including tech planning, code generation, code review, and exploring novel solutions.

What We Are Looking For

  • Technical leadership or management experience of a team of any size.
  • Proven ability to engage and motivate teams.
  • Experience working as part of a professional development team on game client features or relevant areas.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.
  • Strong experience working with multiple stakeholders, understanding their goals, and evaluating various technical solutions.
  • Strong technical skills in at least one of the following: game engines, rendering engines, networking, physics, AI, or audio.
  • Excellent programming skills in C# or C++.
  • Experience in mobile and/or PC game development.
  • Experience with version control, build tools, and deployment pipelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices and trends.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Codex, Claude Code) and understanding of how agentic workflows augment engineering productivity.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with automated testing and continuous integration.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and services for game development.
  • Knowledge of game design principles and user experience.
