About the role
Job Description
Just Wont Die Games Studio is expanding and seeking a highly-skilled, driven, and creative 3D artist to work on an original sci-fi and fantasy IP for console and PC. The role involves bringing the game world to life by creating characters, creatures, weapons, and more, working both independently and in cooperation with the Art Director and development team.
Responsibilities
- Produce AAA standard 3D assets in line with the project's semi-realistic art style.
- Work on a wide variety of assets, including humans, clothing, creatures, and weapons.
- Work closely with the Art Director, other experienced artists, and development teams.
- Interpret 2D concept art into 3D game assets.
Essential Requirements
- An exceptional portfolio that includes both organic and hard surface assets.
- Professional games experience as a 3D Character Artist with an excellent track record of delivering high-quality assets.
- Familiarity with the entire game asset creation pipeline: high-poly sculpting, retopology, UV mapping, texture baking, texture painting, setting up, and exporting to game.
- Excellent knowledge of ZBrush, Maya, and Substance Painter.
- Experience with Unreal Engine.
- Great understanding of anatomy.
- Understanding of game asset topology that takes into consideration specified budgets and animation requirements.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Able to collaborate and work well in a team.
- Willing to give and receive constructive feedback.
Beneficial Skills
- Experience working on an FPS.
- Experience using Xgen.
- Experience working with character customization.
- Experience with Unreal Engine.
- A keen gamer with industry knowledge.
- Game development experience.

- Working Conditions: The position is based in Cambridge, UK; however, the team is currently working fully remotely.
