About the role
Job Overview
We are looking for an animator to rig and animate a digital character painting for use in marketing the Healing Fate novel series. This job can lead to additional projects as there are currently twenty portraits and counting.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Rig and animate digital character paintings by hand.
- Create a subtle, realistic idle animation (approximately 20-30 seconds, loopable) to feature the character's introduction and bring them to life.
- Incorporate blinks, slight head turns as possible, and subtle expression changes.
- Communicate directly with the painter and author of the series, Asha Nyr, as needed.
Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements
- Must rig and animate entirely by hand.
- Strict anti-generative AI policy: No generative AI may be used. Anyone who uses generative AI will not be hired.
- Must be mindful, skillful, reliable, and passionate to handle characters from a book series about healing from trauma.
- Friendly and kind demeanor to fit a positive work environment.
Tools and Methodologies
- Manual rigging and animation techniques (Spine is not required, as the painter is too busy to learn it).
