About the role
About the Company
Kreuzer Design is a communication design studio and Swiss visual production and design studio based in St. Gallen, Switzerland. We develop brand identities, visual systems, and high-quality communication assets for companies in industry, technology, architecture, medical technology, and consumer goods. We create high-quality 3D visualizations, product imagery, animations, campaign assets, and AI-assisted visual content for brands in architecture, industry, technology, medical products, and consumer goods.
Today, a major focus of our work is 3D, CGI, animation, and AI-assisted visual production. We don't see AI as a gimmick or simply a prompting tool, but as a powerful technology for controlled, reproducible, and brand-consistent image and video production. We see images not as isolated deliverables, but as part of a coherent brand system. Every visual should support the overall identity, positioning, and appearance of a brand—from product presentation and campaign communication to long-term visual consistency.
Our work combines design, branding, storytelling, precise 3D production, and controlled AI workflows. We use AI as a tool to expand creative and production possibilities, while keeping control over quality, composition, materials, lighting, and brand fit. We are a small, focused team with a hands-on production mindset. We value reliability, clear communication, technical curiosity, and people who think beyond execution—people who understand that strong images are not only technically impressive, but strategically meaningful.
We are currently looking for a highly skilled AI Workflow Specialist / Generative AI Artist. We are not looking for someone who simply generates attractive images using Midjourney or ChatGPT. We need someone who truly understands AI workflows, knows how to control and document them, and can integrate them into professional production pipelines.
Collaboration & Terms
- Type: Freelance / Long-term Collaboration / Remote or Hybrid
- Location: Remote collaboration is possible. Hybrid work in St. Gallen, Switzerland, would also be of interest.
- Process: We would initially start on a freelance basis through specific projects or test assignments. In the long term, we are interested in building a regular working relationship if there is a good professional and personal fit.
Your Responsibilities
You will help us develop and implement controlled AI workflows for real client projects. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Developing reproducible AI workflows for image and video production
- Building and maintaining ComfyUI setups using open-source and closed-source models
- Combining AI with 3D, photography, compositing, animation, and post-production
- Creating consistent image series, campaign visuals, motion tests, and animatics
- Controlling visual quality, composition, style, brand consistency, product accuracy, motion, and details
- Developing internal tools, templates, and automated workflows that other team members can use
- Integrating AI models, APIs, and custom scripts into existing production pipelines
- Evaluating hardware, GPU requirements, and local, cloud-based, or hybrid setups
- Documenting and delivering workflows, production data, and dependencies
- Assessing quality, usability, and compliance risks
What You Should Bring
We expect strong knowledge and practical experience in:
- The capabilities, advantages, and limitations of different open-source and closed-source AI models
- ComfyUI and node-based AI workflows
- ControlNet and comparable control techniques
- LoRA and model adaptation methods
- Inpainting / Outpainting
- Upscaling and image enhancement
- Image consistency, style consistency, and character consistency
- AI-assisted animation and video AI workflows
- Workflow documentation and reproducibility
- Local AI setups and cloud-based production environments
- Photoshop / Compositing
- Structured delivery of project files and production data
Additional Experience
Additional experience with the following would be highly valuable:
- Runway, Kling, Pika, Luma, Magnific, or similar tools
- Python scripting and workflow automation
- Developing custom ComfyUI nodes
- APIs and integration of different AI systems
- Blender or other 3D software
- Animation, motion design, and animatics
- Product and architectural visualization
- Photography, retouching, and After Effects
- GPU hardware and technical infrastructure for AI production
- Fine-tuning, custom models, and dataset preparation
- Developing simple internal tools and user interfaces
Technical Infrastructure & Internal Workflows
Beyond producing images and animations, we are particularly interested in building robust internal AI workflows. You should be able to evaluate which hardware, GPU capabilities, and technical infrastructure make sense for professional AI production. We are particularly interested in understanding which solutions work best locally, in the cloud, or in hybrid environments—both technically and economically.
An important part of this role is making AI accessible and useful to our entire team. We are looking for someone who can translate complex technical possibilities into simple, reliable, and repeatable production processes. This could include ComfyUI templates, automated pipelines, custom tools, presets, or intuitive user interfaces. The goal is to enable less specialized team members to benefit from these developments and use AI efficiently in their daily work.
What Matters to Us
We are not looking for prompt artists. We are looking for someone who understands how to integrate AI into real client projects—with control, transparency, legal responsibility, and a strong sense of visual quality. Beautiful individual images are not enough. We want to understand the process behind them: How was an image created? What data was used? How reproducible is the result? How can you generate variations without losing control? How do you maintain visual consistency across a series of images? How do you bring an image convincingly to life? And most importantly: How can these processes be designed so that an entire team can benefit from them, rather than relying on one specialist?
You should be structured, curious, reliable, and communicative. A strong understanding of visual quality, brand identity, composition, motion, and professional production requirements is essential.
What You Don't Need to Be
You don't have to be a traditional 3D generalist. And you don't need to know everything. But you should be able to demonstrate that your skills go far beyond writing simple prompts and selecting the best results. We want to see that you can deliberately control, combine, automate, and document AI workflows—and develop solutions that work reliably in real production environments.
Application Requirements
Please send us:
- Portfolio or relevant work samples
- A short description of your AI workflows and the tools you use
- Examples of controlled and reproducible image or video production
- Examples of automation, custom tools, ComfyUI setups, or custom nodes
- If possible, screenshots of workflows or process documentation
- A brief overview of your technical experience and setup
- Your availability
- Your hourly or daily rate
We are particularly interested in examples that show not only the final image or video, but also how you achieved the result—and how the process can be reproduced, adapted, or automated.
