Job Summary
Intrepid Studios is looking for a highly imaginative artisan of magic, a maker of spells, a wizard of technology who compulsively makes the fantastical real. We are seeking a Senior VFX Artist to join our award-winning team to work on our epic MMORPG Ashes of Creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Create exceptional real-time visual effects.
- Create assets from scratch using in-engine and 3rd party tools.
- 3D modeling and UV mapping.
- Proactively collaborate across departments to discuss and overcome technical obstacles.
- Innovate and solve problems creatively.
- Mentor junior talent.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- 5+ years of experience with in-game FX.
- Ability to create exceptional real-time visual effects.
- 3D modeling and UV mapping skills.
- Experience mentoring junior talent.
- Ability to work proactively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- AAA Game Development Experience.
- Unreal Engine experience.
- Multidisciplinary background including scripting or coding experience.
- Houdini experience.
- Simulation experience (Destruction, Fluids, etc.).
- Strong traditional art skills.
- Experience creating visual effects in a range of styles.
- Avid gamer with a love for Fantasy MMO titles.

Interview Overview

Benefits & Compensation
We offer competitive pay based on market standards plus a significant annual bonus structure. The base salary for this role is between $85,000 – $136,000, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on experience level, skillset, and internal equity relative to peers at the company.
All posted positions are full-time with generous medical benefit options covered 100% by employer for employees and dependents, plus paid vacation & sick days, and 401k with matching.
