Job Summary

MAKE is a creative studio specializing in storytelling through animation, visual effects, and motion graphics. We value teamwork, client collaboration, and creating fresh, compelling work. We are seeking a full-time, on-site VFX Artist to join our medium-sized studio in Minneapolis. The role requires a generalist with specialties such as compositing or particle effects. Relocation to Minneapolis is required. The starting date is flexible between May and July.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with VFX Supervisors and Producers to complete shots on time with clear communication.
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Pay close attention to detail and take ownership of assigned shots.
  • Work nimbly balancing artistic integrity and deadlines.
  • Develop clever solutions to improve workflow.
  • Experience with lighting and rendering 3D passes is a significant plus.
  • Maintain strong communication throughout the process.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong organization skills, artistic ability, and attention to detail with a good eye for composition, light, and color.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability for self-directed learning.
  • Ability to follow feedback and instructions from supervisors and leads.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Nuke.
  • Experience in keying, tracking, and roto.
  • Experience compositing both live-action elements and pure CG composites.
  • Natural collaborator who thrives in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Solid understanding of industry trends and willingness to explore new techniques and approaches.
