Job Summary
Riot Games is seeking a talented VFX Artist II to join the Valorant Premium Content team in Mercer Island, USA. This role focuses on creating high-quality visual effects that enhance the player experience and bring the world of Valorant to life. The ideal candidate will have a strong artistic vision, technical skills, and a passion for games.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement high-quality visual effects for Valorant’s premium content, including skins, abilities, and environmental effects.
- Collaborate closely with designers, animators, and engineers to deliver polished and performant VFX assets.
- Iterate on effects based on feedback from internal teams and player data.
- Maintain consistency with the game’s artistic style and technical requirements.
- Contribute to the development of VFX pipelines and tools to improve workflow efficiency.
- Stay current with industry trends and new technologies to continually push the quality of visual effects.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience as a VFX artist in the games industry or a related field.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of high-quality visual effects, preferably in fast-paced, competitive games.
- Proficiency with industry-standard VFX tools such as Adobe After Effects, Houdini, Maya, or similar software.
- Experience working with game engines, especially Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Good understanding of particle systems, shaders, and real-time rendering techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to incorporate feedback effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Valorant or similar competitive shooter games.
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages related to VFX development.
- Understanding of performance optimization techniques for real-time VFX.
- Passion for gaming and familiarity with Riot Games’ titles and culture.
Education & Experience Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Visual Effects, Computer Graphics, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience creating visual effects for games or interactive media.
