About the Role
As part of the expansion of our studio, we are looking for experienced and passionate VFX Artists to join our team and craft breathtaking visual effects for our video game projects.
You will work closely with designers, programmers, and other artists to create high-quality VFX including explosions, fire, smoke, water, and magical effects that enhance the gaming experience.
We are looking for both stylized and realistic VFX Artists: impress us with your portfolio!
This is a remote freelancer position, with a possible lasting collaboration: we are looking for reliable and long-term partners to build a solid team that packs a punch!
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality real-time VFX for video game projects including explosions, fire, smoke, water, and magical effects.
- Collaborate closely with designers, programmers, and other artists to ensure visual effects meet project requirements.
- Maintain a high level of polish and attention to detail in all visual effects work.
- Adapt and adjust artistic work based on constructive feedback and performance guidelines.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in game development on AAA titles as a VFX Artist.
- Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 / 5 and Unreal Particle System.
- Proficiency in industry-standard 3D and VFX software such as Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, Substance, Photoshop.
- Strong understanding of real-time VFX techniques and pipeline.
- Experience optimizing VFX for console and mobile game development.
- Portfolio demonstrating a breadth of both technical and artistic execution of real-time VFX.
- Critical eye for timing, animation, and motion of real-world objects and visual VFX.
- Attention to polish and detail.
- Comfortable receiving constructive group criticism and making artistic adjustments to meet performance guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good knowledge of Houdini.
- Experience with other real-time engines such as Unity.
- Familiarity with UE Blueprints.
- Strong Vex, Hscript, Python and/or Mel scripting skills.
- Comfortable with written and spoken English.
- French speaking is a serious plus.
