At Ripple Effect, a studio dedicated to the Battlefield franchise since 2013, we are driven by quality, creativity, and integrity. We are looking for a Vehicles Artist – ExDev to oversee the quality and artistic consistency of externally developed vehicle assets. This role involves guiding and assisting external developers to ensure assets meet fidelity and performance standards. The position reports to the Line Director, Art, with on-site and hybrid working options available within the Vancouver area.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and provide feedback on externally created vehicle assets and cosmetics.
- Create briefs and organize packages for external production.
- Finalize assets by making visual and technical adjustments.
- Integrate assets into the game ensuring they look and perform as expected.
- Create content for seasonal releases on a cyclical basis.
- Help coordinate vendor communication with the internal team.
- Support external art training and documentation.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- 3 or more years of experience across several game titles with realistic vehicle art direction.
- Experience working with external partners in some capacity.
- Knowledge of modern hard surface asset workflows, including asset production processes, modeling, and PBR texturing.
- Experience guiding work from outsource artists or working as an outsource artist.
- Ability to understand, match, and communicate art styles to external artists.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range for this role in British Columbia (depending on location such as Vancouver vs. Victoria) is $73,200 – $101,700 CAD. Pay offered will be determined based on relevant business and candidate factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business needs.
