Job Summary
The Gearbox Entertainment Company is home to a world-class team that entertains the world with award-winning and genre-defining video games. Known for successful franchises such as Borderlands, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, and Brothers in Arms, Gearbox is seeking an experienced Tools Programmer to join their game development team in Frisco, Texas.
As a member of the Tools Team, you will maintain, enhance, and extend the current game development toolset, supporting all projects and helping the development team create outstanding video games.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, enhance, and implement tool systems used by all projects
- Interact with project team members to gather, interpret, and discuss design requirements
- Assist users in identifying and resolving tool and workflow issues
Required Qualifications / Skills
- 5+ years of game industry experience
- Excellent C++ programming skills
- Proficient in C#
- Ability to design flexible, extensible, and performant software
- Experience with a variety of computer-related languages and tool-related technologies
- Excellent debugging skills
- Strong UI/UX design skills
- Excellent creative problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A passion for developing high-quality software
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine
- Background in creating and maintaining tools systems
