Senior C++ Programmer – Ubisoft Connect

Job Summary
Ubisoft Connect is the ecosystem of player services for Ubisoft games across all platforms, designed to provide the best environment for players to enjoy their games and connect on any device. As part of the team, you will develop, design, and deploy features that are part of this ecosystem. You will join a multi-disciplinary team passionate about PC gaming, collaborating closely with programmers, designers, and testers to realize the Ubisoft PC gaming platform.
This is a permanent position based in Malmö, Sweden, with flexibility to work partially from home (up to two days a week) under Ubisoft’s Flexible Workplace Policy. English is the primary language for communication and application.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize code performance, modularity, and scalability using technologies such as Chromium Embedded Framework/Qt, gRPC, Docker, Protocol Buffers, and RESTful APIs.
- Utilize tools including Gitlab, Visual Studio, Jira, Conan, static code analysis, and Gtest for development and maintenance.
- Engage in code reviews and architectural discussions to improve and scale the codebase, fostering continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain features for the player-facing client application.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient C++ code adhering to best practices and leveraging modern C++ features.
- Collaborate within an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure efficient project execution.
- Shape testing strategies by implementing robust testing frameworks and collaborating with peers to streamline deployment and ensure seamless integration of new features.
- Drive excellence in software quality and operational efficiency, contributing to continuous workflow improvements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Professional experience with C++ programming and solid knowledge of file I/O, algorithms, data structures, memory management, and general C++ best practices.
- Experience with performance-critical programming.
- Strong general debugging skills.
- Motivated and enthusiastic about developing software platforms for games with millions of users.
- Belief in team ownership and collaboration to learn, discuss ideas, and solve complex problems.
Education Requirements
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or other relevant vocational education programs is considered a bonus.
