Motive is looking for a Production Manager (Development Manager) to manage the development execution on a diverse team to build and launch a AAA video game. This leadership role involves high interaction with team members and leadership, focusing on project management, progress tracking, and risk mitigation alongside Producers to ensure predictable results, feature quality, and partner agreement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead diverse teams to achieve functionality, modules, or specific components of a game.
- Coordinate with the team to meet sprint/release goals, organize resources in planning, tracking, and reporting on the work.
- Collaborate with Leads, Producers, and Development Directors to establish and communicate project goals, plans, and milestones.
- Manage trade-offs between scope, resources, and time during the project lifecycle in partnership with other teams.
- Identify and analyze project risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Create status reports, project plans, communication plans, and sprint retrospectives.
- Work with other Development Managers to identify process improvement opportunities for delivering high-quality content effectively.
- Track and manage dependencies with other DMs and partners to ensure teams meet goals or plan mitigations.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- 4+ years of experience in project management and team management.
- 2 or more shipped games.
- Experience in cross-disciplinary collaboration on a game development team.
- High level of written and verbal communication across all levels and organizations.
- Knowledge of project management tools and development practices; familiarity with JIRA.
