GFactory is a French art outsourcing studio founded in 2011 by experienced video game professionals. Our team specializes in 2D and 3D services and is fully made up of skilled freelance artists, working on world-class projects and passionately committed to crafting the highest quality assets. GFactory has contributed to renowned projects such as Wayfinder, Supervive, Borderlands 3, Overwatch, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Crash Bandicoot 4, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Palia, Apex Legends, Anno 1800, Wolfenstein 2, Hitman, and more.
About the Role
As part of the expansion of our studio, we are looking for experienced and passionate Gameplay Animators to join our team and craft best-in-class animations for our current and incoming projects. We seek creative animators with a deep fondness for gaming and an understanding of how to implement animations in a game engine.
This is a remote freelancer position, with a possible lasting collaboration: we are looking for reliable and long-term partners to build a solid team that packs a punch!
Key Responsibilities
- Craft high-quality gameplay animations for current and upcoming projects.
- Implement animations effectively within game engines.
- Collaborate with programmers, 2D artists, 3D artists, VFX artists, and other team members.
- Follow schedules and deliver assets on time.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in game development, working on AAA titles.
- Proficiency with 3D software such as Maya, 3DSMax, or Blender.
- Good knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 / 5 animation systems.
- Good 3D modelling skills and knowledge of character topology for animation.
- Familiarity with rigging techniques and deformation systems.
- Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional key-frame animation skills.
- Expertise in the principles of animation, including spacing, timing, weight, and posing.
- Passion for animation, organized, and a team player.
- Good communication skills to interact with other teams (programmers, 2D artists, 3D artists, VFX artists, etc.).
- Ability to follow schedule and deliver assets on time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MotionBuilder and motion capture.
- Working knowledge of scripting (Mel/Python for Maya/MotionBuilder, Blueprint/Python/C++ for Unreal Engine).
- Comfortable with written and spoken English.
- French speaking is a serious plus.
