Job Summary
Avalanche Studios Group is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team to work on our upcoming AAA title Contraband. Contraband is a brand-new IP published by Xbox Game Studios.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure) at Avalanche Studios, you’ll be joining a newly established team at the heart of our game development pipeline. We’re looking for someone who can bridge the gap between our cutting-edge game development workflows and modern cloud infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to define best practices in an industry where traditional DevOps meets gaming-specific challenges. Whether it’s orchestrating build pipelines for multi-platform game releases, implementing efficient asset management systems in the cloud, or designing innovative solutions for our global development teams, you’ll have the freedom to craft solutions that directly impact how we create and deliver our games.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and improve team-wide efforts on our existing pipelines, automation workflows, and systems
- Assist in planning, configuring, and deploying various open source and proprietary services on primarily Windows but also Linux, such as Azure DevOps, Perforce, Jenkins, and Sentry as well as new services to support the development team
- Provide support for build releases and patching, build deployment tool suite, code integration utilities, pre-commit testing utilities, and packaging pipeline
- Identify and optimize bottlenecks/inefficiencies in our CI/CD build automation systems
- Upgrade, evolve, and maintain existing infrastructure, including Jenkins server configurations and scripts and build scripts
- Interface and assist in supporting the studio; investigate complex problems and provide direct solutions
- Write clear, maintainable, portable, and highly functional scripts and code
Required Qualifications & Skills
- At least 5 years of DevOps experience, including some experience in a senior-level role
- Strong Windows (and Linux System) Administration skills
- Experience with Azure services such as DevOps, Blob Storage, Web apps, Azure Functions
- Good practical knowledge of Azure
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform)
- Good experience scripting languages, including Powershell and Python
- Proficient in a majority of the following: Git, REST APIs, Docker (particularly with Windows Containers), automated testing structures and processes, build and/or content processing pipelines
- Commitment to code quality, documentation, and sound testing procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry experience working or shipping AAA titles
- Basic familiarity with C#, C++
