Job Summary
Squeeze is looking for exceptional Compositing Artists of different levels to integrate real and virtual elements seamlessly, in line with the artistic vision and storyline of the project. The successful candidates will be responsible for integrating composited elements and ensuring the final visual quality of the products. This role requires advanced expertise in handling complex action sequences, where the management of movement and detail is crucial. Additionally, candidates must have experience working with a variety of 3D animation styles. The work location is flexible (on-site, hybrid, or remote within the province of Quebec) and the work schedule is 40 hours over 5 days.
Positions and Dates:
- A senior artist from May 12 to July 25, 2025
- A few artists of different levels from June 23 to July 25, 2025
Key Responsibilities
- Work efficiently in a high-contrast, cel-shaded 3D/2D hybrid style, respecting technical, artistic, and time constraints.
- Carry out advanced compositing for the project in production by using multiple passes.
- Achieve the visual rendering required by the VFX supervisor during the creation of passes.
- Ensure continuity and uniformity across the various project sequences.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the compositing pipeline.
- Collaborate closely with the art direction team to ensure a consistent approach to various animation styles.
- Provide creative and technical solutions to overcome challenges encountered during production.
Required Qualifications & Skills

- Excellent team player with extensive experience in leadership and mentoring within production teams.
- Balance of technical and artistic expertise to maintain high visual quality.
- Skilled collaborator who can prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Experience working in different animation styles, from realistic to highly stylized, adaptable to diverse project needs.
- Creative with the ability to find innovative solutions to complex compositing challenges.
- Open to constructive feedback and able to apply it to improve work quality.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to high-quality results.
Experience & Education Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the 3D animation industry or significant experience in large-scale, high-quality projects with varying animation styles.
- Relevant educational background in 3D animation and computer-generated imagery.
- Expert understanding of lighting, color management, contrast, and volumes.
- Strong experience in look development and advanced compositing techniques.
- Expertise in Nuke compositing software.
- Experience in short movies is a plus.
- Knowledge of Python and scripting skills is a plus.
