GFactory is a French art outsourcing studio founded in 2011 by experienced video game professionals. Our team specializes in 2D and 3D services and is fully made up of skilled freelance artists, working on world-class projects and passionately committed to crafting the highest quality assets.
GFactory has contributed to renowned projects such as Wayfinder, Supervive, Borderlands 3, Overwatch, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Crash Bandicoot 4, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Palia, Apex Legends, Anno 1800, Wolfenstein 2, and Hitman.
About the Role
As part of the expansion of our studio, we are looking for mid to senior 3D Character Artists with a deep passion for stylized artworks to support our core team on current and incoming projects. You must feel comfortable and have experience working on stylized projects close to Wayfinder, Fortnite, Valorant, League of Legends / Arcane, Marvel Rivals, Borderlands, and similar titles.
This is a remote freelancer position, with a possible lasting collaboration. We are looking for reliable and long-term partners to build a solid team that packs a punch!
Key Responsibilities
- Create stylized characters and accessories for game projects.
- Collaborate with Character Art Lead and team in technical and aesthetic problem-solving efforts.
- Embellish concepts with technical constraints in mind while maintaining overall aesthetic and quality standards.
- Work creatively as part of a large or small group.
- Follow schedule and deliver assets on time.
- Receive constructive group criticism and make artistic adjustments to meet performance guidelines.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in game development, working on AAA titles.
- Great ability to create stylized characters and accessories.
- Strong knowledge of relevant software packages such as Maya/Max, Photoshop, Substance Painter, and ZBrush.
- Strong 3D modelling and texturing skills.
- Solid knowledge of anatomy, folds, and clothing.
- Experience creating great textures and materials in PBR.
- Comfortable working creatively as part of a team.
- Ability to embellish concepts with technical constraints in mind while maintaining overall aesthetic and quality bar.
- Comfortable receiving constructive criticism and making artistic adjustments.
- Ability to follow schedule and deliver assets on time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge in rigging and animation.
- Proven experience implementing 3D characters in Unreal Engine 5 (UE5).
- Familiarity with Blender.
- Familiarity with Marvelous Designer.
- Experience creating animals and creatures.
- 2D concepting or technical art skills are a plus.
- Comfortable with handpainted textures.
- Comfortable with written and spoken English.
- French speaking is a serious plus.
