Job Summary

Mob Entertainment is a startup multimedia studio best known for our hit indie horror game “Poppy Playtime”. This franchise is one of the hottest new properties in gaming, with more than 100 billion YouTube views of related content since the game’s launch 4 years ago. We are expanding our team as our ambition grows.

We are looking for a talented Senior Gameplay Animator to collaborate with a team of Animators, Storyboard Artists, Technical Artists, and Programmers to tell a story and push the limits of character animation for our upcoming titles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist a team of animators in the development of high quality in-game animations and cinematics.
  • Reference storyboards if provided.
  • Develop excellent visual frames and strong poses that represent the characters and serve the game’s design goals.
  • Present work to the team, seek input, and incorporate feedback from leads and teammates.
  • Commit to deliverables and manage goals within regular milestones and deadlines, maintaining the appropriate style throughout the project.
  • Continually refine animation processes during production to increase productivity for the animation team.
  • Animate a diverse range of compelling, alluring, and fear-inducing creatures/characters that support unique and dynamic gameplay.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 5 or more years experience with Autodesk Maya.
  • 5 or more years experience with Unreal Engine 5, including a clear understanding of Blueprints, State Machines, and Level Sequences.
  • Ability to animate in a variety of styles and disciplines including cinematics, performance-based (ranging from realistic to cartoony), gameplay, and prop animation.
  • Mastery of body mechanics.
  • Experience working with shooting reference.
  • Expertise in the principles of animation.
  • Ability to animate both characters and creatures (biped and quadruped).
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and excellent team player skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and other disciplines; mentor junior and mid-level animators.
  • Well organized, punctual, and an effective communicator.
  • Understanding of JIRA and Confluence.
  • Ability to meet all deadlines during sprints.
  • Creativity in problem-solving and ability to think outside established solutions.
  • Work closely with Tech Animation to provide feedback for rigs.
  • Collaborate with the Team Lead to help plan, facilitate, and promote growth within the animation team.
