Job Summary
Blue Zoo Animation Studio is seeking a talented Mid 3D Character Animator to join our creative team. You will be responsible for bringing characters to life through expressive and believable animation, collaborating closely with the animation director and other departments to deliver high-quality content for TV, film, and digital projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 3D character animations that meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Work closely with the animation director to interpret storyboards and animatics into polished animation.
- Collaborate with riggers, modelers, and other artists to ensure smooth animation workflows.
- Participate in animation reviews and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Maintain consistency and quality across all animation sequences.
- Contribute ideas and creative input to enhance character performance and storytelling.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a 3D character animator, preferably in a studio environment.
- Strong understanding of animation principles including timing, weight, and acting.
- Proficiency with industry-standard 3D animation software such as Maya or equivalent.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take direction well.
- Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of character animation work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with motion capture data and cleanup.
- Knowledge of scripting or automation tools to improve animation workflows.
- Background in acting or performance arts is a plus.
Education & Experience
Education: Degree or equivalent qualification in Animation, Fine Arts, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years professional experience in 3D character animation.
