Job Summary
Glitch Productions is an independent animation studio based in Australia making original, long form animated shows distributed on YouTube. Our channel has over 13 million subscribers, tens of millions of views per episode, and is still growing strong. Our studio is filled with incredibly talented and passionate artists determined to change the way animation is produced and treated in the industry.
Our latest IP, Digital Circus, has amassed over 350 million views on the pilot alone, with much more still to come.
We are looking for a highly capable and diligent 3D Animator (mid-April start) to create high quality animations across a range of styles. The role involves working across our existing shows and animating various teasers, trailers, and shorts for social media channels and our YouTube channel.
Key Responsibilities
- Creating expressive animations in Autodesk Maya, with a strong emphasis on movement, comedy, and an overall “stylised” look.
- Performing basic 3D layout to translate scripts into camera shots and movements.
- Collaborating closely with other animators and departments to ensure a consistent animation style.
- Taking feedback constructively and implementing revisions efficiently to maintain production timelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Demonstrated skill in cartoon style hand animation.
- Experience with the 3D animation pipeline and Maya software.
- Ability to understand and adapt to a wide range of animation styles, from extremely exaggerated and stylised movement to realistic and dramatic acting.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team to solve problems and improve the skill levels of fellow animators.
- A deep commitment to ongoing, active, and efficient communication both within and outside of your department.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and creatively driven environment where projects move quickly and collaboration is key.
- Strong interpersonal, social, and communication skills, with a desire to work closely with other professionals in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine for animation workflows.
- Knowledge of rigging and/or technical art skills.
- Experience in lighting and/or rendering.
