Key Responsibilities

  • Create fast rigs, minimum @ 24FPS real time playback in Maya with five keyed characters for both body and face
  • Develop a rigging system to rig bipedal characters
  • Develop a system for transferring rigs between variants of the same character
  • Create character rigs compatible with current existing rigs
  • Design, test, and maintain character set-ups
  • Work with R&D to craft, debug, and evaluate new tools
  • Collaborate with previs animators to design motion controls
  • Develop and maintain character motion and deformation systems
  • Develop new techniques and processes to solve character production challenges
  • Write utility scripts and programs to streamline the setup process
  • Work with production management to prioritize tasks
  • Keep supervisors informed of progress, changes, roadblocks, and other critical issues

Required Qualifications / Skills

  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a rigger
  • Advanced knowledge of Maya required
  • Motion Capture experience is preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Benefits & Compensation

Hiring Salary Range:

  • Minimum: $2700 per 45-hour week ($56.85/hour)
  • Maximum: $3100 per 45-hour week ($65.27/hour)

*Weekly rates are guaranteed and include one hour of overtime at time and a half into each day.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
