Job Summary
Framestore’s 2025 Launchpad Internship offers talented and creative individuals a chance to gain hands-on experience at one of Europe’s leading creative studios. Interns will learn through studio work, presentations, a personal project, and informal meetups while collaborating on real projects with experienced artists and technologists. Previous interns have contributed to shows like Tom & Jerry, His Dark Materials, and Fantastic Beasts.
Working within the Pre-Production Services team as a Previs Artist, you’ll help design pre-visualised shots and sequences, working with the creative direction of the Visualisation Supervisor to define the shot composition, staging, lighting and camera language – including movement, lens choices, and framing. Our Previs Artists’ skill sets are varied but are seen as the in-house cinematographers and 3D storyboarders visualising the Director’s initial edit that will go on to inform the shoot and post-production VFX lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design pre-visualised shots and sequences.
- Work with the Visualisation Supervisor to define shot composition, staging, lighting, and camera language.
- Act as in-house cinematographers and 3D storyboarders visualising the Director’s initial edit.
- Translate CG cameras and animation to apply to real-life situations.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Strong sense of cinematic composition and lighting.
- Character animation skills including timing and performance.
- Camera animation expertise.
- Knowledge of cinematic language and technical terminology.
- Able to take and interpret creative direction.
- Ability to translate CG cameras and animation to real-life situations.
Eligibility Criteria
- You must be entering the final year of your degree or have graduated in the past 12 months.
- You must be a UK resident or have a current resident, student, or graduate VISA for the duration of the internship.
- You must be available from 7th July – 29th August 2025.
