Pipeline TD Coordinator
Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) – Vancouver, Canada
Job Summary
This role is considered Hybrid, which means the employee will work 2-3 days onsite at a company designated location and occasionally from home.
We are looking for a Pipeline TD Coordinator based in our Vancouver studio to assist the Pipeline Technology team in Vancouver.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate between Pipeline TD and Technology teams.
- Manage internal show ticket triage, including proper issue classification, data integrity, and communication.
- Maintain production issue ticketing system with priority updates, stakeholder follow-up, and escalation to engineering from Pipeline TDs.
- Validate production urgency for any high priority issues while avoiding derailing existing commitments.
- Work with engineering’s Technical Coordinator on escalation, triage, and any overlap between Pipeline TDs, Technical Project Managers, and engineering.
- Follow up on feedback and comments from show issues.
- Under the guidance of Pipeline TD Leadership, help coordinate priorities between CG Supervision and Pipeline TDs.
- Coordinate show support meetings between Pipeline TD Leadership and CG Supervisors to keep regular sync on priorities across shows.
- Maintain a record of weekly show priorities and commitments.
- Liaise with Technology teams to update and communicate technology schedules and any schedule changes.
- Identify opportunities with technology teams and coordinator to identify projects for Pipeline TDs.
- Evaluate Pipeline TD skill sets for issue/project assignments with assistance from Pipeline TD Leadership.
- Schedule show check-in meetings with relevant production teams.
- Create, update, and maintain Pipeline TD calendar including show check-in meetings, ergos, etc.
- Record and communicate meeting notes.
- Handle basic administrative tasks for the department, including facilitating scheduling of training for new hires.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Minimum 2 years of project or production coordination experience in VFX production, gaming, software development, or similar field.
- Experience with issue tracking systems such as Jira and Shotgrid.
- Familiarity with documenting workflows using systems like Confluence.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, ideally including Agile software development frameworks.
- Intuitive understanding of the demands of a fast-paced, creatively-driven visual effects production environment.
- Readiness to trust others and be trustworthy.
- Ability to express oneself concisely, willingness to speak up, and conviction to keep everyone informed of progress and issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coordinating one or more teams providing direct support to clients.
- Experience supporting a technical team and their production stakeholders.
- Experience facilitating multisite communications and scheduling.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate interdepartmental and cross-facility needs and schedules.
- Basic understanding of the VFX pipeline workflow.
Education & Experience Requirements
Note: This position is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship (or extensions thereof) by ILM Vancouver. Candidates must have legal authorization to work in Canada.
Benefits & Compensation
The hiring range for this position in Vancouver, BC is C$52,800 to C$67,500 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The number of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs.
The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
A full range of medical, financial, and/or other variable pay or benefits may be offered depending on the level and position.
