Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Sound Designer to join our Nintendo Software Technology (NST) team. The ideal candidate will lead the creation and implementation of innovative sound design for our games, ensuring an immersive and high-quality audio experience for players worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the sound design process for game projects from concept through final implementation.
- Collaborate closely with game designers, programmers, and other audio team members to create compelling audio experiences.
- Develop and maintain audio pipelines and tools to improve workflow efficiency.
- Oversee and mentor junior sound designers and audio staff.
- Ensure all audio assets meet Nintendo’s quality standards and technical requirements.
- Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas for game audio.
- Manage schedules and deliverables related to sound design tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in sound design for video games or interactive media.
- Proficiency with audio middleware such as Wwise or FMOD.
- Strong knowledge of audio production tools including Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or similar DAWs.
- Excellent understanding of game audio implementation and integration techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage a team.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for video games and interactive entertainment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Nintendo platforms and development environments.
- Background in music composition or audio engineering.
- Familiarity with programming or scripting languages related to audio implementation.
Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Audio Engineering, Music Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in game audio design, with leadership experience highly preferred.
