Job Summary
We are looking for a Concept Artist to join an entirely new team – Rustic Roost – based in Poland, focused on co-developing titles within the Snail Games USA portfolio. In this role, you’ll collaborate on an exciting variety of projects, including both well-established IPs and new titles. You’ll have a unique opportunity to be part of the studio’s growth and influence its culture from day one while working on creative, dynamic projects with passionate teams from other parts of the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Abstract Thinking: Take abstract requirements and goals to craft creative and innovative art in a high-speed environment.
- Self Driven: Take full ownership of concept art workflows from start to finish, leverage new tools (such as Generative AI tools), manage your own work and seek out feedback and collaboration to set a high standard.
- Iterative Development: Receive and incorporate feedback from art leads and the design team, refining concepts to achieve the desired aesthetic and functionality.
- Multi-Project Support: Support other projects as needed by adapting visual designs to fit different game themes and visual styles.
- Reference Creation: Produce detailed reference sheets and breakdowns, ensuring modelers and animators have clear guides for creature proportions, textures, and functionality.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Experience in Concept Art: 2+ years working as a professional concept artist.
- Visual Storytelling: Proficient in conveying personality, history and details of the world through your designs to enhance the immersive quality of the game world.
- Collaborative Skills: Strong communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively with designers, modelers, and the art lead.
- AI Tools Familiarity: Basic understanding of using AI tools to enhance or speed up the process and a willingness to learn more.
- English Proficiency: Good English communication skills (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Sci-Fi genre: Familiarity with mechanical systems design.
- 3D Skills: Able to concept in 3D and shortcut the prototyping process.
