Job Summary

ATLANTIS ANIMATION is an animation studio based in the Canary Island of Tenerife, known for producing high quality animated series and feature films such as Tara Duncan and Miraculous Ladybug season 5, broadcast on Disney Channel and Disney+. The studio is preparing a new project, Messi and the Giants, produced by Sony Music Vision, Sony Pictures Television Kids, and Leo Messi Management, and broadcast by Disney. This series follows a young boy named Leo transported into a fantastical alternate universe.

We are seeking an experienced and creative 3D Layout Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Tenerife. The role involves overseeing the creation and execution of 3D layout sequences, ensuring alignment with the visual style and technical requirements of our animation projects, and collaborating closely with directors and other departments to support storytelling and creative vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide the layout team, ensuring high-quality, consistent work.
  • Collaborate with directors and art departments to implement visual and cinematic concepts into layout sequences.
  • Ensure layout sequences align with the overall aesthetic and technical requirements of the project.
  • Plan and create camera setups, staging, and scene blocking to ensure optimal shot composition and performance.
  • Work closely with animation, lighting, and environment teams to ensure seamless integration of layout with the production pipeline.
  • Provide feedback and direction to the layout team, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve layout issues during production.
  • Ensure layout work is completed on time and meets high quality standards and production deadlines.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the latest 3D layout tools and techniques.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in 3D Layout animation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D layout and animation software (Maya, Blender, etc.).
  • Deep knowledge of cinematography, camera techniques, composition, and storytelling through layout.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to give clear, constructive feedback.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage a team and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing and coordinating with other departments such as animation, modeling, and lighting.
  • Passion for storytelling and 3D animation.
  • Spanish work permit or eligibility to work in Spain.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Availability to work in person at the studio in Tenerife.
  • Previous experience in a 3D layout or cinematography role for animated features or TV series.
  • Experience with other animation tools or software.
  • Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
