Job Summary
Paradox Interactive is a leading global publisher and developer of strategy games with a broad portfolio of acclaimed brands including Stellaris, Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron, Crusader Kings, Cities: Skylines, Prison Architect, Victoria, Age of Wonders, and the World of Darkness catalog. We are seeking a passionate and talented 3D Character Art Intern for the second half of 2025 to join our team and contribute to our exciting projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 3D character models and textures aligned with the artistic vision of the project.
- Collaborate closely with the art team and other departments to ensure consistency and quality across assets.
- Participate in feedback sessions and iterate on character designs based on input from leads and peers.
- Assist in optimizing character assets for performance on target platforms.
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques relevant to 3D character art.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree program (e.g., Game Art, 3D Modeling, Animation, or related field).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating 3D character modeling and texturing skills.
- Proficiency with 3D software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.
- Experience with texturing tools like Substance Painter or Photoshop.
- Basic understanding of topology, UV mapping, and character rigging concepts.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Knowledge of stylized or realistic character art styles.
- Previous internship or project experience in game development.
Education Requirements
Enrollment in or recent graduation from a relevant educational program in Game Art, 3D Modeling, Animation, or related disciplines.
Experience Requirements
Portfolio demonstrating relevant skills; prior internship or project experience is a plus but not mandatory.
