Key Responsibilities

• Attend creative, production, and management meetings as required.
• Understand the style and expectations of each show by following guidance from the production team and Animation Director.
• Assist Animation Director and Rigging Lead with rig testing.
• Maintain and update the animation stock tracker and reuse library.
• Communicate stock availability to production and animation teams.
• Fill in character breakdowns and leave notes for the Rigging department.
• Pose special poses sent by clients as needed.
• Create stock animation reuse for tradigital and envelope rigs.
• Create rough animation and special character poses as required.
• Template stock animation and poses from completed episodes.
• Collaborate with Animation Directors to find solutions for smoother show production.
• Export final masters or reuse animations to Ftrack for approval.
• Test props featured heavily in episodes to ensure fitness for purpose.
• Build master controllers and pose copiers.
• Submit animation to show standards.
• Communicate rig, scene, and deadline concerns clearly and timely.
• Ensure assignments and retakes meet production schedules.
• Stay updated with latest Toonboom techniques and continuously develop drawing skills.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities

• Review all animatics before starting scenes.
• Ensure episodic materials are available before assignments.
• Maintain accurate daily planners and save in correct locations.
• Review assignments for hook-ups, reuse, and stock essentials.
• Clarify any questions on briefs before starting work.
• Refer to notes and guidance to understand scene intent.
• Communicate problems early with Animation Director/Team Lead.
• Create rough plans for scenes considering show style and animation requirements.
• Use libraries, reuse assets, special poses, expression sheets, and references.
• Use reference materials for posing to ensure clear and readable animation.
• Create roughs to establish shot baseline.
• Key out characters on model with good silhouettes and lines of action.
• Produce well-timed animation with variety, contrast, and personality.
• Check work for scene length, quality, model, and technical issues.
• Follow naming conventions and keep work tidy per asset manager guidelines.
• Adhere to Pipeline team workflow guidelines.
• Engage in continuous development through training, learning, and mentoring.
• Perform other duties as reasonably required by management.
