Job Summary

MAKE is a creative studio specializing in storytelling through animation, visual effects, and motion graphics. We value teamwork, collaboration with clients, and a passion for creating fresh and compelling work. We are seeking a 2D Artist to join our team in Minneapolis. This is a full-time position requiring relocation. The start date is negotiable between May and July.

The 2D Artist will be familiar with all aspects of the animation pipeline, capable of handling a range of styles, and enjoy storyboarding and visual development. Our projects include commercials, branded content, and original stories, requiring adaptability and the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement changes and complete shots while adhering to production schedules.
  • Create high-quality 2D animations for various projects including character animations, motion graphics, and visual effects.
  • Collaborate with the creative team and Creative Director to develop storyboards, animatics, and concept designs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continually improve skills and contribute innovative ideas.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong organization, artistic ability, and attention to detail with an eye for composition, light, and color.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability for self-directed learning.
  • Ability to follow feedback and instructions from supervisors and leads.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A knack for storytelling and acting.
  • Knowledge of frame-by-frame animation techniques.
  • Understanding of compositing and post-production processes.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard workflows and best practices in animation production.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Toon Boom Harmony is a plus.

Location & Experience Requirements

This position is based in Minneapolis and requires relocation.
